Coaching is a unique form of support. It is not therapy, it's not mentoring and it is not consulting (although all of those have some elements of a coach approach)

Robyn’s Coaching Process
STEP 1
Goal setting
Before we begin we will have an intake session devoted entirely to working out what it is you want to achieve from coaching. This will help us plan our sessions and work out which coaching package will work best for you.
It may sound simple, but chunking your goals down into bite sized, achievable pieces can take time. Sometimes one session is not enough, in which case the first part of your coaching will be devoted to working out exactly what it is you want to change, or achieve in your life.
STEP 2
Current Situation
Once we have identified your goals we will analyse your current situation to see what new actions or perspective shifts might be needed. Some sample questions I will ask you are:
What is the current situation like?
Up until now, what have you done or worked on?
What is most challenging part of your current situation to you?
What would the ideal situation look or feel like?
STEP 3
The Gap
Coaching is all about closing the gap between where you are now and where you want to be in the future. In this step we will explore the gap between your current situation and your desired one. Some clarifying questions I might ask you include:
What might be causing the gap between your desired situation and the current situation?
What obstacles are preventing you from achieving your goals?
Are there things you are not doing or might now do?
What do you think is the root of this problem?
STEP 4
Commitment
In this step you will identify and commit to action. We will explore strategies and actions you can start taking immediately to work towards your goals. Questions night include:
What action can you commit to taking in this area?
What might get in the way of accomplishing this?
How will you support your commitment to this action?
What or who might you need to involve?
STEP 5
New Learning
Self awareness is at the heart of coaching. As you start to make changes and move closer to your goals you will learn more about yourself. Key questions I might ask include:
What have you noticed?
What has become clearer?
What are your take-aways from this session?
What new awareness or learning happened today?
STEP 5
Success & Accountability
A key difference between Coaching and other forms of “helping” such as therapy or mentoring, is accountability. As you coach I will hold you accountable for the thing you say you are going to do.
This does not mean I ‘police’ you, and there is no right and wrong. If you continue to be held back, or fail to achieve your goals, then we re-visit the goal. Maybe it is not the right one for you after all. This is coaching, it is fluid, self paced and personal.
